Target Audience: Customers who value small-batch baking, seasonal ingredients, and thoughtfully designed experiences. The brand appeals to individuals looking for both quality products and a

welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere.

Background: “Bloom Butter Bakery” was developed as a brand and digital experience that connects baking with seasonality and place. The project explores how visual identity and user interface

design can work together to communicate warmth, craft, and a sense of community.

2. Design Problems

  • How can a bakery brand communicate both craft and approachability through a digital interface?

  • How can a website reflect the tactile, sensory qualities of baking in a primarily visual medium?

  • How can multiple content types (storytelling, shop, community, navigation) be organized into a clear and intuitive user experience?

  • How can branding elements—color, typography, imagery—remain consistent across different pages while adapting to different functions?

  • How can the design balance visual richness with usability and clarity?

  • How can a digital platform feel as inviting and grounded as a physical bakery space?

3. Design Process & Inspiration

The design process began with exploring the relationship between baking and seasonality, using ingredients, textures, and natural forms as visual references. Inspiration was drawn from fresh bread, garden spaces, and farmers markets, informing both the color palette and imagery.

Wireframes were developed to establish a clear structure for navigation and content hierarchy, ensuring that users could easily move between pages such as the shop, story, and community garden. From there, visual elements were layered in to enhance the experience without overwhelming usability.

 

Typography and color were refined to create contrast between sections, helping guide the user while maintaining a consistent tone. The final system balances warmth and structure, allowing the interface to feel both expressive and easy to navigate.

4. Design Solution

The final design combines branding and interface into a unified system that reflects both the craft of baking and the rhythm of seasonal ingredients. A soft, food-inspired color palette and layered typography create a sense of warmth, while structured layouts keep the experience clear and navigable.

 

Each page is designed with a specific purpose, from storytelling to shopping, while maintaining a consistent visual language. Imagery plays a central role in reinforcing the brand, using close-up textures and natural scenes to connect the digital experience back to physical products and place.

 

Rather than separating branding and usability, the solution integrates the two, creating a website that feels both expressive and functional. The result is a digital experience that supports interaction while reinforcing the identity of the bakery across every touchpoint.
